Blast from the past!

Many of these older shaving creams are excellent. I don't know why shaving cream has fallen into apparent disfavour. Maybe because many top tier shaving soaps nowadays are essentially cream in a tub!! Maybe a tube stuffing machine is too costly? I would think contents of a tube stay fresher longer than contents of a tub.

Yes Marko - I still enjoy breaking out the ole British creams, esp in the summer. They are always slick......easy to lather. I missed out on Frank's creams, but the tubed creams are fantastic and last quite awhile. Proraso stuff is great, as is the PdP 63. I have a couple of tubs of the AOS Rose creams, another fave. I think maybe the 'post' 'face feeling' became prevalent which seems to be easier with croaps.

Charge (Grooming Dept) green oud
Shave 5 ・ 112 g left ・ $6.75 / shave

Big thanks to HighSpeed for featuring the Kai Captain Titan Mild Protouch MG guarded blade in several shaves this year – it's fantastic! Unlike other guarded blades I've tried, this one glides smoothly with no tugging. After just one shave in the Alpha Spirit razor, it was close without flaying, comfortable as an old shoe, and gentle enough for two happy passes.

As for today’s soap? Smells like my neighbor’s Saturday night when the Kona winds carry her fumes across the yard. Finished up with a couple blasts of Santa Maria Novella’s Patchouli just to complete the picture.
